New Delhi, May 28: The Polit Bureau of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPI-M)) has strongly condemned the recent Israeli airstrike on a tent camp in Rafah, which resulted in the deaths of 45 people, including 20 women and children. The camp housed displaced individuals who have been severely affected by ongoing conflicts.
The party in a statement issued here said, “Despite the International Court of Justice’s directive to cease the offensive on Rafah, Israeli armed forces have continued their attacks, causing immense civilian casualties. The overall death toll in Gaza has now exceeded 36,000, with many more still trapped under rubble.”
The CPI(M) has urged all democratic and peace-loving citizens of India to protest against Israel’s actions and demand an immediate halt to the Rafah offensive. It also called for the enforcement of a ceasefire to prevent further loss of life and suffering.
The party has appealed to the Government of India to take a firm stand by demanding that Israel immediately cease its military operations and agree to a ceasefire. It also urged New Delhi to stop all arms exports to Israel.
