Cop dead, five injured in two road accidents

Srinagar, July 04: A police constable lost his life following a severe accident near the 90 feet area of Srinagar district on Thursday.
The accident occurred when a scooty, bearing registration number JK16B 7611, collided head-on with an LP truck traveling in the opposite direction. The scooty rider, identified as Mohammad Amin Bhat, son of Mohammad Yousuf Bhat, and a resident of Repora Lar, Ganderbal, sustained critical injuries.
Amin, a Selection Grade Constable in the J&K Police posted at the District Police Lines (DPL) in Srinagar, was en route to his duty when the collision happened. He was immediately rushed to SKIMS Soura, where doctors declared him brought dead on arrival.
The police have registered a case regarding the incident and have initiated an investigation to determine the exact circumstances leading to the fatal collision.
In another accident, a Honda Amaze vehicle bearing registration number PB10Hz/6707 collided with an auto load carrier bearing registration number JK16A/9084 in Satrina Kangan. The Amaze, traveling from Srinagar towards Baltal for the annual Yatra, collided head-on with the auto load carrier coming from the opposite direction, resulting in injuries to three devotees and two civilians.
The injured civilians are Javaid Ahmad, son of Ghulam Nabi, a resident of Handwara, and Muzaffar Ahmed, son of Abdul Rehman, a resident of Nizampora Kangan. The injured devotees have been identified as Maneysood, 16, son of Jagdesh, Kiran, 48, wife of Jagdesh Kumar, Jagdesh Kumar, 51, son of Faqir Chand All three devotees are residents of Ludhiana, Punjab.
Emergency services swiftly transported the injured to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Kangan. Due to the severity of their injuries, Javaid Ahmad, Muzaffar Ahmed, and Maneysood were subsequently referred to Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) Soura for further treatment.
Authorities are investigating the cause of both accidents.
