Srinagar, May 13. Karnataka assembly election verdict is a resounding defeat of the “hate politics” of the BJP and a victory of people reflecting that a diverse nation cannot be run by the hate and vendetta politics, said former J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) Chief Ghulam Ahmad Mir on Saturday.
In a statement, Mir said the verdict “has infused confidence among the people, who were feeling betrayed and frightened by the BJP’s politics based on deceit, religion, hate and caste”.
“It has also proved that people believe in Congress Party for its strenuous efforts to protect just rights of people, unity and harmony in the country, besides its fight against crony capitalism, political exploitation and various other anti-people measures on the part of BJP,” Mir added.
He said the victory of Congress was “expected” given the party’s sustained struggle and “fight against the assault” on people’s rights, religious and hate politics in the country.
Mir also congratulated Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Gandhis and Karnataka State leadership for the overwhelming victory.

A victory of love over hate: Karra
Senior Congress leader and AICC Steering Committee Member Tariq Hameed Karra while hailing the Congress victory in Karnataka termed the verdict “a resounding victory of truth over falsehood and love over hate”.
“People of Karnataka have proved that India is sick of divisive and hate politics of the BJP besides proving that a particular ideology for the sake of power cannot overcome a diverse nation like India, thus gave a befitting reply to BJP for indulging in religious and hate politics for the lust of power,” Karra said.
He congratulated INC President Mallikarjun Karge, Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and the entire leadership of Karnataka Congress for their “tireless work for attaining this resounding victory” in the assembly elections.
“The BJP should learn a lesson from peoples’ verdict and should shun pursuing hate politics on the basis of religion, region and caste,” he said, adding, “They (BJP) should stop daydreaming about Congress Mukt Bharat as in its pursuit it has itself become BJP Mukt South India.”
“BJP should in fact learn to focus on politics of diversity and positivity rather building their castle of cards on negativity such as hate, vendetta and religious, exploitation, besides crony capitalism, anti-farmer, anti-youth and anti-people measures and various other misadventures,” the Congress leader said.
