Srinagar, May 13: Several leaders of the Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP) joined the Jammu & Kashmir National Conference (NC), the latter said on Saturday.
According to a NC statement issued here, the party’s south zone president Dr Bashir Ahmed Veeri on Saturday welcomed Latif Ahmad Khanday district vice president Anantnag and Executive Member South Kashmir of DPAP along with scores of prominent workers into the J&K National Conference.
Welcoming the new entrants into the party fold, Veeri hoped that they will make a valuable addition to the party’s local unit. Passing on good wishes to the new entrants, Veeri exuded confidence that the new entrants will put their experience to use to serve the party and strengthen it at the grassroots level.
Meanwhile, the NC president and Member of Parliament from Srinagar Dr Farooq Abdullah and vice president Omar Abdullah have condoled the demise of Aisha Amin, former Director Education and daughter-in-law of Ex MLA Ghulam Muhammad Bhat.
In a condolence message, the duo prayed for peace to the departed soul and much-needed strength for the bereaved Bhat family to bear the irreparable loss.
