Committed to promote Kashmiri language in both regions: JKAACL

Organizes Kashmiri literary programme at writers' club

Srinagar, Jan 03: The Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages organised a day-long literary programme at the Writers’ Club Jammu with a focus on promoting Kashmiri language in Kashmir and Jammu regions.
The event was presided over by renowned short story writer and novelist Makhan Lal Pandita, while Sahitya Akademi Award winner Dr. Sohan Lal Koul was present in the hall as the chief guest.
Harvinder Kour Secretary Academy in her address stated that Kashmiri is the largely spoken language of Jammu and Kashmir and the Academy is focusing on its overall development. She further stated that the objective of today’s programme is to provide a common platform to Kashmiri writers of both the regions to share their creative arts. Earlier, Dr. Javed Rahi Divisional Head JKAACL Jammu delivered the welcome address and expressed his views regarding the event.
M L Pandita in his presidential address thanked the Cultural Academy for organizing the event and said that such events should continue to be organized in the Jammu region in the future as well. The second session of the event was the Mushaira, which was presided over by renowned poet and writer Bashir Bhaderwahi, while BN Betab and Avatar Krishan Naz were present in the hall as special guests and guests of honor.
Among the short story writers who presented their works at the short story session were Rinku Koul with “Shash Panj,” Vijay Wali with “Booneh Maut,” Avatar Hogami with “Bod Shar,” Dr. Sohan Lal Koul with “Kaband Ao Voo’rith,” and ML Pandita with “Aasun Chh Hechhnavan.”
Among the poets who presented their poetry to the audience at the Mushaira were Bashir Bhaderwahi, PN Shad, Dildar Mohan, AK Naz, BN Betab, Santosh Shah Nadan, Ashok Gohar, Moti Lal Masroor, Pyare Hatash, Ratan Lal Johar, BN Abhilash, Dali Tiku Arol, Tej Sagar, Dr. Ramesh Narash, Wali Muhammad Aseer Kishtwari, Kundan Paras, Rajinder Aghosh, Bandiya Tiku, Patambar Razdan, Kusum Dhar, Chaman Panjori, MK Bhat, and Dr. Azhar Izhar. The proceedings of both literary sessions were conducted by Assistant Editor Kashmiri Dr. Gulzar Ahmad Rather, while Kashmiri Editor Javed Iqbal Khan presented the vote of thanks. Jameel Ansari provided full cooperation in the filming and photography of these events, for which he was appreciated at the event.
