Srinagar, July 11: The team of the National Health Mission (NHM), Chhattisgarh that is in Kashmir on Tuesday visited the Regional Institute of Health & Family Welfare (RIFW), Dhobiwan in north Kashmir Baramulla district.
Dr Jitender Mehta, State Nodal Officer, Quality Assurance as State Nodal Officer, Patient Safety J&K and program manager ASHA said the high-level team of officers are here to study the best practices followed in Jammu and Kashmir.
“Today they visited the Regional Institute of Health & Family Welfare (RIFW) and saw the institute. They were impressed by seeing the institute,” he said.
The Health Department Kashmir established a state-of-the-art Kashmir Skill and Simulation Centre (KSSC) at Dhobiwan, Tangmarg to enhance the skills and competencies of health personnel by formulating and conducting training programs including Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Emergency Room Trauma Course (ERTC), Obstetric Skills Training and others based on modern simulation methodology.
Interestingly, the Kashmir Skill and Simulation Centre (KSSC) is the first of its kind institute in Jammu and Kashmir and across the country.
Pertinently, on Tuesday the team studied the best practices in J&K like IPHS-based District Gap Analysis, ASHA Model, Skill Lab and DNB Program which have been appreciated nationally.
Mehta said that the team from Chhattisgarh was highly influenced by the concepts that the J&K Health Department has adopted in developing the Health Care Sector and expressed their gratitude towards the Health Department J&K particularly NHM, J&K for organizing such a knowledge-sharing platform.
