CBC, MC Pulwama organise awareness program in Pulwama

Pulwama, Oct 01: The Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India on Sunday organised an awareness program and cleanliness drive at Town Hall in Pulwama.
The program was organised by Field Office, Anantnag in collaboration with the Municipal Council (MC) Pulwama as part of the Ek Tareekh, Ek Ghanta, Ek Saath – an hour long nationwide cleanliness initiative under Swachhata Hi Seva (SHS) -2023.
The aim of the programme was to undertake Shramdaan activities and generate mass awareness through community participation and to provide an impetus on implementation of Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM).
In his introductory remarks, Sh. Shahid Mohammad Lone, Field Publicity Officer, CBC,FO Anantnag briefed the audience about the SHS-2023 campaign. He said the focus of this year’s drive is on visual cleanliness and the welfare of Safai Mitras. He said that Ek Tareekh,Ek Ghanta,Ek Saath is an initiative which aims to create a Jan Andolan for swachhata and sensitize people at the grassroots level that collective efforts are needed for realisation of a garbage free India.
CEO Municipal Council, Pulwama Sh. Wali Mohammad Wani in his address said that more efforts at the individual level as well as community level are needed for achieving a Clean India. He highlighted the contribution of the Safai Mitras across the nation for ensuring the public spaces are clean. He further added that there is a need to bring across a change in the behavior and the outlook of the people to make them realize that cleanliness is an inalienable part of daily lives. Sh. Wani expressed gratitude towards CBC for organising the awareness program in Pulwama and said more such outreach activities need to be organised to take the message to the masses.
Secretary MC Pulwama, Sh. Tariq Ahmad was among the speakers who unanimously called for the efforts at an individual as well as collective level to achieve the goal of ‘Garbage Free India’.
The programme began with the administering of the Swachhata Pledge to the participants. As part of the CBC’s integrated communication starategy, message about the theme was also dessiminated through live performaning arts(skit) and cultural programs. Informative standees, printed IEC material was also displayed for public information.
Later FPO CBC,Shahid Mohammad Lone and CEO,MC Pulwama Sh Wani led the Shramdaan activity and swachhata rally. On the occasion CBC also donated a dustbin to MC Pulwama, as a testimony of CBC’s commitment to the cause of cleanliness.
