Ram Madhav holds several rounds of talks with independents, small Kashmir-based parties
BJP High Command summons top J&K leaders for strategy meeton Oct5

JAMMU, Oct 04:
The BharatiyaJanata Party (BJP) has commenced its strategic “Plan B” to establish a government in Jammu and Kashmir, with National General Secretary Ram Madhav at the forefront of discussions with independent candidates and smaller Kashmir-based parties.
Madhav, who has been appointed as Co-Incharge for the upcoming Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir, has been specifically tasked by the BJP high command to lead these efforts following the abrogation of Article 370. He played a pivotal role in the formation of the BJP-People’s Democratic Party (PDP) alliance, which marked the BJP’s first involvement in the J&K government.
In the last Assembly elections, the BJP secured 25 seats, while the PDP won 28. Madhav was instrumental in framing the Agenda of Alliance with the PDP, allowing the BJP to enter the government for the first time in J&K.
“As part of Plan B of the BJP, several rounds of talks have been held by Ram Madhav with different independent candidates backed by one group and other smaller Kashmir-based parties,” a senior BJP leader from Delhi, who wished to remain anonymous, informed *Rising Kashmir*.
“Ram Madhav has also held several rounds of talks with the independents backed by a particular group and also a party formed sometime back before the LokSabha elections,” the leader added. “Except for the National Conference (NC) and Congress, talks have been held with all stakeholders in Kashmir to explore possibilities for the next government in J&K.”
However, the identity of the newly formed party mentioned was not disclosed.
In a related development, the BJP high command has summoned 13 top leaders from the J&K unit for a crucial meeting in Delhi on October 5. This meeting, to be chaired by BJP National President JP Nadda, will also likely include Union Home Minister Amit Shah and other senior officials.
During the meeting, the BJP top leadership will get feedback regarding talks held by Ram Madhav and permutations and combinations for formation of next government in J&K will be discussed. The 13 top leaders of J&K unit of the BJP including members of the core group will also be part of the meeting.

The four general secretaries of the J&K BJP, Ashok Koul (Gen Secy Organisation), Dr DevenderManyal, Sunil Sharma, Vibodh Gupta, two former Deputy Chief Minister, Kavinder Gupta and Dr Nirmal Singh, J&K BJP President, RavinderRaina, Working President, Sat Sharma, DarkhshanAndrabi and DevenderRana will be participating in this crucial meeting.
