Anantnag, Apr 26: Senior leaders of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Jammu & Kashmir on Saturday paid a condolence visit to the residence of Syed Adil Hussain Shah at Hapatnar, Pahalgam. Shah, a young pony handler, tragically lost his life during the recent terror attack on tourists at Baisaran Meadow in Pahalgam in which 26 people were killed.
The BJP delegation was led by Ashok Koul, General Secretary (Organisation), J&K BJP, along with Sunil Sharma, Leader of Opposition & General Secretary, J&K BJP, and Ravinder Raina, former President, J&K BJP. Several other senior leaders and local party workers also accompanied them to express their condolences to the bereaved family.
Sofi Yousuf, Arif Raja, Altaf Thakur, Mudassir Wani, Ali Mohd Mir, Ashraf Azad, Mohd Rafiq Wani, Sajid Yousuf Shah, Sahil Bashir Bhat, Bilal Parray, Salinder Singh, Ashok Bhat, GM Mir, and other senior leaders of BJP were present on the occasion.
The BJP leaders termed the killing of Syed Adil Hussain Shah as a brutal and inhumane act, emphasising that terrorism knows no religion and continues to claim innocent lives. They paid rich tributes to Syed Adil’s courage and dedication, recognising him as a symbol of Kashmiri resilience and hardworking spirit.
Speaking at the occasion, Ashok Koul said, “We stand shoulder to shoulder with the family of Syed Adil in this moment of profound grief. His sacrifice will not be forgotten, and we assure full support to his family. The entire nation mourns with them.”
Sunil Sharma highlighted the urgent need to defeat the forces of terror that seek to destabilise peace and communal harmony in Jammu & Kashmir. “The killing of an innocent, hardworking youth like Adil is a stark reminder of the evil designs of terrorists who are enemies of humanity,” he said.
Ravinder Raina also spoke with the family members and the local community, assuring them that the BJP is committed to safeguarding the lives and aspirations of every citizen in Jammu & Kashmir.
The BJP leadership has asked the administration to provide immediate financial assistance and a government job to a member of Adil Hussain’s family to secure their future.
The visit was marked by prayers for the departed soul and an expression of unwavering commitment towards restoring lasting peace in the region.
