Jammu, July 28: National Conference Provincial Joint Secretary Ankush Abrol on Sunday reiterated the resolve of the party leadership to provide ample job opportunities to unemployed youth and curtail inflation, as and when the NC forms the government in J&K.
While interacting with the youth, Abrol assured them that NC will not leave any stone unturned for the cause of unemployed youth. “NC has always worked for youth and its past rule in J&K is a testimony to that,” he said
Flaying the “anti-public” and “anti-youth” policies adopted by the BJP, Abrol said that all the promises made by the BJP party have fallen flat with the educated youth pushed into a deep unemployment crisis.
“The administration is imposing tax after tax on the people but has failed to mitigate their sufferings which include rocketing prices of essential commodities,” he said, adding that the National Conference will oppose all the anti-people policies of the government and will fight tooth and nail to bring justice.
He alleged that the smart city project with crores of rupees was a big scandal. “All are based on paperwork, but on the ground, nothing much visible has been done vis-a-vis huge allocation of funds,” he alleged.
Abrol further said that the present government has increased the electricity bills for the last five years but there is no regular power supply. “Despite the humid and hot weather, the present LG administration is not worried about minimising the problems of the public. The scarcity of electricity leads to drinking water scarcity with regular interruption of water supply,” he lamented.
In his address, Dr Vikas Sharma, Coordinator Jammu District (Urban) and Zonal Secretary highlighted the plight of unemployed youth and sought employment packages for them. He called for financial assistance/stipend for unemployed youth till they get a job or establish their business.
Dr Vikas said, “Before August 05, 2019, Jammu used to be called the City of Temples when people were getting all basic facilities like drinking water, power and clean roads. But, sadly, after August 05, 2019, Jammu City was painted as the Smart City with people now facing tremendous problems concerning drinking water supply and electricity. Even roads connecting streets are in broken conditions.”
“Instead, various taxes are being imposed upon the public on the pretext of providing amenities, but there is none to listen for redressal of public grievances. Therefore, the public is appealed to apply the sagacity of mind before using their vote in the coming assembly elections,” he added.
