BJP begins Lok Sabha campaign, opens 6 offices in J&K

Jammu, Jan 30: BJP unit of J&K on Tuesday activated its entire cadre and the senior leaders for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections by opening six offices in all the five Parliamentary seats.
With the opening of the 6 election campaign offices for 5 Lok Sabha seats of J&K, the race has also begun in the J&K BJP with both sitting MPs and other aspirants, including senior leaders, starting to claim their candidature for the 2024 Lok Sabha Polls, party sources said.
Meanwhile, the party insiders said that soon a meeting will be held under the chairmanship of J&K BJP President, Ravinder Raina for recommending names of probable Lok Sabha candidates of the party to the high command.
“A meeting under the chairmanship of J&K BJP President will soon be held in Jammu and probable names of the Lok Sabha candidates for all 5 Lok Sabha seats, including the 2 incumbent MPs, would be forwarded to the party high command for final decision,” former Deputy Mayor, Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), Baldev Billowria informed Rising Kashmir.
Many senior leaders of the party including 2 former Deputy Chief Ministers, Dr Nirmal Singh, Kavinder Gupta, J&K BJP President, Ravinder Raina, 2 sitting MPs, Jugal Kishore Sharma, union minister, Dr Jitendra Singh and other senior leaders including some former MLAs are in race for securing MP ticket, party sources said.
On Tuesday, Ravinder Raina accompanied by other senior leaders of the party inaugurated the Jammu Parliamentary Election office in Bakshi Nagar, (Opposite PR Hotel).
Four offices have been opened by the BJP in four Lok Sabha seats of J&K, while 2 offices have been opened for campaigning by the party in Rajouri-Poonch-Anantnag Lok Sabha seat.
After delimitation, the BJP’s main focus is on winning the Rajouri-Poonch-Anantnag Lok Sabha seat.
Ravinder Raina said that soon more election offices will be opened up in all the Assembly constituencies as well.
He informed that from today onwards, all the activities for the upcoming Parliamentary elections will be coordinated through these offices.
