Srinagar, June 20: In a first-of-its-kind initiative, Birla Open Minds International School, Pampore, hosted India’s first-ever houseful screening of Aamir Khan’s Sitaare Zameen Par at 9 AM at INOX, Shivpora, Srinagar.
The special First Day, First Show event marked the movie’s first public screening in the country, drawing a packed auditorium and setting the tone for a powerful message on inclusive education.
The film, which sensitively explores the emotional world of children who see and feel differently, became a moving learning experience for students urging empathy, acceptance, and support over academic or behavioral perfection.
“This movie reminds us that success isn’t just about marks. It’s about understanding, compassion, and giving children the freedom to be who they truly are,” said a student speaker during the event.
The principal of Birla Open Minds International School, Pampore, said the enthusiastic response underscored the importance of real-world, empathy-driven learning. “We’re proud to bring this message to our students that every child is unique and deserves a chance to shine,” she added.
The school extended its gratitude to INOX Srinagar for helping create this impactful experience, reinforcing the belief that every child is a star and education must nurture both minds and hearts.
