Srinagar, Jan 21: A 20-year-old self taught artist from Ashtangoo village of North Kashmir’s Bandipora district has secured his first bollywood project
Faisal Sheikh, a social media sensation is set to make his Bollywood debut after being selected by Mumbai-based production house Taha Film International. Known for his unique recreations of Bollywood scenes, Faisal’s journey from a small town in Kashmir to the big screen is nothing short of inspiring.
Despite facing challenges in the early days of his career, his persistence and dedication paid off when a recreation of a scene from the film Pushpa went viral, earning over 33 million views on Facebook. This success catapulted him into the limelight, bringing his talent to the attention of a broader audience.
In November last year, Faisal participated in auditions held in Bandipora by Taha Film International. The production house, known for promoting Kashmiri talent, immediately recognized his potential. Faisal’s selection was officially confirmed in December, when the cast list for their upcoming projects was released.
“I couldn’t believe it when I saw my name on the list. It was like a dream come true. I have worked hard for this moment, and I am thankful to everyone who supported me, said Faisal, while speaking to Rising Kashmir.
The production house plans to include Faisal in three upcoming projects, with shooting set to begin soon.
Speaking on his journey, Faisal said that he has been passionate about acting since childhood. “I started by observing bollywood movies, practicing dialogue delivery, and recreating iconic scenes. While social media became a platform for me to showcase my talent, my admiration for bollywood actor Akshay Kumar kept me motivated.
Faisal said Akshay Kumar has been a huge inspiration for him. “His versatility and dedication in acting have always fascinated me.”
Faisal also urged young boys and girls to follow their passion and work hard to achieve their dreams. “No matter what your passion is, work with dedication, and success will come your way,” he added.
