Srinagar, Aug 07: Jammu and Kashmir students of Aryans Group of Colleges, Rajpura, Chandigarh organised the seventh Aryans Shikara Race at Ghat No. 18, Dal Lake, Srinagar. A statement issued here said that renowned Para Cricketer Amir was the Special Guest on the occasion, while Dr. Anshu Kataria, Chairman, Aryans Group, graced the event with his presence and encouraged the participants. The event saw enthusiastic participation from local students and youth, showcasing Kashmir’s traditional Shikara culture in a vibrant and competitive spirit.Dr. Anshu Kataria said that Aryans has always believed in combining education with culture and sports to ensure holistic development. He added that such events not only promote tourism and local heritage but also create memorable learning experiences for students. Speaking on the occasion, Para Cricketer Amir appreciated the initiative by Aryans Group to promote cultural engagement and youth inclusion through such unique activities. He mentioned that Aryans Group of Colleges is also known as Mini Kashmir of Punjab as the majority Aryans Students are from JK. The event concluded with the distribution of certificates and appreciation tokens to the participants and winners. It is to be mentioned that Aryans JK students have organised shikara races previous years also which also witnessed participation of hundreds of tourists. In past Aryans students have done many small innovations including “Shikara App”, “Solar Boat”, “Ramadhan App, “Android App, “eMunshi App” “Safety Helmet”, “Save Kashmir” and “Life Saving Glove” for the Valley.
