Srinagar, Jan 17: Scores of pass out students of Arsh Institute of Health Sciences and Technology, Khonmoh alleged that the institute has withheld their marksheets, diploma and degree certificates for more than a year which has left them in lurch.
The students of B.Voc MIT, batch 2018-2021 of the institute said their final result was declared on the August 16, 2021 but the institute is yet to issue them a degree certificate.
“We were just provided with 1st and 2nd semester marks sheets and 1 year diploma certificate. The rest of the documents i.e., 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th semester marks sheets, Advanced Diploma certificate and Degree Certificate are pending till date,” the students said.
However, Mohammad Anwar Khan, chairman of the institute said that within 10 days the matter will be resolved.
“We have introduced B. Voc MIT for the first time in Kashmir. We, as hub partners of the TATA institute, provide the facilities to the students whereas the admission and examination are conducted by TATA. The exams were conducted online at the proper time but the delay happened as TATA wanted to do a convocation but I have suggested they issue the degree first and later on do a convocation. I have already mailed them about the issue,” he said.
Arsh Institute of Health Sciences and Technology is affiliated with the TATA Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) Mumbai.
The students further said that the administration of the institute asked them to call and send mails to TISS Mumbai regarding the issue.
“We came to know that Arsh Institute has not cleared its dues towards Tata University which is the reason our documents are put on hold but we have paid our dues from time to time towards our institute,” said a student wishing anonymity.
The students further said the authorities are not taking their issue seriously by not responding to their calls and messages.
“Now TATA University is also doing the same as they are not replying to our emails and calls which is very much unfortunate on their side,” they added.
The students further said that they are unable to pursue their studies further due to the withholding of the certificate.
“Without the documents, we are neither eligible for any master’s course nor for any government or private job. We have been stuck in our homes doing nothing for one and a half years. We have become the victims of depression as our career is at stake. We don’t know what to do, to whom we should approach because nobody is paying heed to our grievances,” they said.
The students have requested the authorities to take immediate measures in the issuance of the certificates.
