Jammu, Jan 16: Seeking the attention of the government to form a policy to revamp the business of Jammu, the Apni Party Provincial President, Jammu and former minister S. Manjit Singh on Tuesday expressed deep concern over sinking business, tourism sector, transport and hotel business in Jammu.
As per a press release issued here, Singh chaired the joining program, which was organized by SC State President, Bodh Raj Bhagat. On the occasion, Madhu Bhagat, a prominent social and political activist, joined the Apni Party in the presence of Manjit Singh, the party said in a statement issued here.
In his address, the former minister said the joining of a prominent woman activist has shown that the people have faith in the Apni Party’s policy and its leadership which believes in telling the truth to the people without misleading them about their future.
“Our future belongs to India and the political parties advocating autonomy or self-rule shall tell the truth to the people that both these things cannot be achieved. J&K is an unshakeable part of India and hence, those making repeated attempts to emotionally exploit the people are not well-wishers of Jammu and Kashmir,” he said.
He further said the people should know that the Apni Party came into being when the other traditional political parties did not come forward following August 5, 2019.
He said that the Central government had reserved Class-4 jobs for the local youth and this decision was changed with the intervention of the Apni Party President, Syed Mohammed Altaf Bukhari in the matter to safeguard the interest of the unemployed youth of Jammu and Kashmir.
“We do the politics of telling the truth to the people, unlike the traditional parties which bent upon dividing people on the name of region and religion. It was because of the divisive politics that the business, tourism and relations between two regions i.e., Jammu and Kashmir have worsened,” he said.
Singh advocated the promotion of peaceful co-existence in the society for the unity of the country and the promotion of tourism and business in Jammu. He demanded a policy from the government for the welfare of the Jammuities, transporters, hoteliers and businessmen.
