Jammu, Sept 21: Chairman of the Apni Party’s Parliamentary Affairs Committee, Mohammed Dilawar Mir on Saturday continued his election campaign in favour of Yawar Mir, who is contesting assembly elections from the Rafiabad constituency.
As per a press release, a meeting of the displaced Kashmiri Pandit leaders and workers of the Apni Party was held here at the office in Gandhi Nagar, Jammu.
During this meeting, Dilawar Mir highlighted the policy and agenda of the party that would be implemented for the empowerment of the displaced Kashmiri Pandits. He termed them as the inseparable part and parcel of the Kashmiri society that should be reunited and rehabilitated. He sought votes and support in favour of Yawar Mir.
Meanwhile, the General Secretary of the Party, Vijay Bakaya also addressed the displaced KPs and the workers during the meeting, while making a plea to vote and support Yawar Mir.
“The displaced KPs shall make their identity by casting their vote in favour of the Apni Party candidate that would empower them. The Party believes that the displaced KPs are an important part of the Kashmiri society,” he said.
Bakaya said the Apni Party wants to empower the displaced Kashmiri Pandits. “We shall fight against those elements making false promises to misguide the displaced community (KPs) for their vote bank politics. Therefore, the migrant KPs shall vote in favour of the Apni Party candidate in Rafiabad to get their issues resolved on priority and accordingly, the issue of growing unemployment and rehabilitation, concerns about their land can be addressed,” he added.
He said the Apni Party believes in telling the truth to the powers, without misleading the voters to gain power. “The party has worked for the empowerment of the weaker section and launched welfare schemes for the poor and needy people. We have fought for the rights of the locals including the migrants Kashmiri Pandits,” he added.
