Apni Party, PDF condole demise of former minister G H Geelani

Hakeem praises deceased’s ‘selfless service’ to people of Budgam

Srinagar, Jan 20: Apni Party leaders have extended their condolences to the bereaved family of Ghulam Hassan Geelani, a former minister who was elected five times as a legislator from the Budgam constituency.
According to a press release issued here, Apni Party president Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari, General Secretary Rafi Ahmad Mir, Chief Spokesperson Muntazir Mohiuddin, and Media Advisor Farooq Andrabi expressed grief and sorrow over the death of former minister Ghulam Hassan Geelani, who passed away this morning.
“Apni Party leaders have expressed solidarity with the bereaved family of Geelani Sahib and prayed for eternal peace for the departed soul,” the press release said.
Acknowledging the unparalleled contributions of the deceased, Apni Party leaders said, “Ghulam Hassan Geelani Sahib dedicated his entire life to serving the people of his constituency. His contributions are invaluable, and his passing is an incredible loss for the people of Budgam.”
Meanwhile, Hakeem Mohammad Yaseen, president of People’s Democratic Front (PDF) and former minister in his condolence message remembered Geelani as a prominent political figure in Jammu and Kashmir, recognised for his selfless service to the people of his region. He praised Geelani’s long and distinguished career, during which he played key roles in various capacities and remained committed to addressing the issues faced by the people of Budgam and the larger region.
“Throughout his life, he (Geelani) remained committed to addressing the issues faced by the people of Budgam and the larger region,” Yaseen said. “His contributions to the region’s socio-political emancipation will be remembered for a long time.”
The PDF chief conveyed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul. “Geelani’s legacy of selfless service to the people of Budgam will be remembered and cherished by the residents, and his contributions to the region’s socio-political emancipation will continue to inspire generations to come,” he said.
