Srinagar, Jan 26: Apni Party headquarters in Srinagar on Friday resonated with jubilation and patriotic spirit as the party leaders and senior workers gathered to celebrate the nation’s 75th Republic Day with great zeal and patriotic fervour.
On this occasion, the party’s Senior Vice President, Ghulam Hassan Mir, accompanied by other esteemed party leaders, unfurled the national flag while attendees raised patriotic slogans and recited the national anthem, adding fervour to this momentous occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Mir said, “Seventy-five years ago, on this very day, our nation’s constitution came into effect, laying the foundation for a democratic ethos in our country. Our constitution guarantees fundamental rights, including freedom of speech, religion, personal liberty, and the right to live a dignified life. Therefore, this day carries profound significance for every citizen.”
“On this joyous occasion, I extend my profound greetings to the people of the country, especially the people of Jammu and Kashmir,” he added.
Besides Ghulam Hassan Mir, the prominent party leaders who were present on the occasion included General Secretary Rafi Ahmad Mir, Senior Leader and Former Mayor of Srinagar Junaid Azim Mattu, Media Advisor Farooq Andrabi, and others.
Meanwhile, Apni Party Vice President and former cabinet minister Choudhary Zulfkar Ali hoisted the National Flag at Apni Party Office premises, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu on the eve of Republic Day celebrations.
The tricolour was hoisted amid the enthusiasm and zeal among the party leaders who gathered at the Party office to celebrate the Republic Day started with the hoisting of the National Flag. The leaders sang the national anthem while sweets were also distributed among the participants.
Ali congratulated the countrymen and hoped that the celebrations of Republic Day would be path-breaking for the country to bring people from different religions or regions together. “The celebrations of Republic Day remind us about the sacrifices and always respect the constitution of the country that has protected the rights of all the people equally,” he said.
State General Secretary of the Party, Vijay Bakaya also spoke on the occasion while elaborating on the importance of Republic Day and how the day should be celebrated. Meanwhile, Provincial President Jammu and Former Minister S Manjit Singh also addressed the gathering while underlining the constitutional values in a democratic country like India.
The party leaders including the Trade Union, Transport Union, Women Wing, SC-ST Wings, Youth Wing and heads of Frontal Organisations were also present on the occasion to celebrate the Republic Day. Besides, Manjit Singh also hoisted the national flag in Vijaypur and other places to mark the celebrations.
