Anantnag, Jan 18 : In compliance with the directions of the Hon’ble Sessions Court, Anantnag Police, under the supervision of a duly constituted committee, destroyed a significant quantity of seized contraband substances in accordance with Section 52A of the NDPS Act.
The committee overseeing the destruction included SSP Anantnag, DySP ANTF, DySP CI, DySP Headquarters Anantnag, and DySP DAR Anantnag. The process was carried out at Kashmir Health Care System, Lassipora, adhering strictly to legal protocols and environmental safety standards.
The Anantnag Police destroyed a large quantity of seized contraband substances, which were confiscated from various police stations, including Pahalgam, Aishmuqam, Srigufwara, Mattan, Larnoo, and Kokernag.
The destroyed items included 155.37 kilograms of poppy straw, 99.022 kilograms of charas powder, 64 bottles of codeine phosphate, 889 bottles of liquor, and 140 trimodal tablets.
