Jammu, Feb 3: Anand Jain, assumed charge as the Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Armed J&K at the Armed Police Headquarters (APHQ) in Jammu on Monday.
On his arrival, Jain was presented with a Guard of Honour by a contingent of the Armed Police, symbolising the formal welcome to his new post. Senior police officers present on the occasion included Sarah Rizvi, DIG IR Jammu, Shiv Kumar Sharma, DIG JKS Range; Vinod Kumar, DIG AP Jammu; Dalip Kumar, SSP Staff Officer to ADGP Armed J&K, along with other gazetted officers and staff members of APHQ J&K.
A 1999-batch IPS officer, Jain previously served as ADGP Jammu Zone before being transferred and posted as ADGP Armed J&K, replacing Vijay Kumar, IPS. The transfer was formalised through order No. 79-Home of 2025, issued by the Home Department, J&K, on January 30.
After assuming charge, Jain conducted an inspection of various branches and sections of the APHQ complex. He interacted with staff members to gain first-hand insights into the functioning of different units, emphasising efficiency and operational readiness in his initial address.
