Jammu, Jan 07: The artists of Ladakh, Kashmir and Delhi enthralled the audiences with their scintillating performances on the second day of Amrit Yuva Kalotsav here at Abhinav Theatre.
Amrit Yuva Kalotsav is being organised by Sangeet Natak Akademi, New Delhi, in collaboration with Jammu & Kashmir Academy of Art Culture and Languages (JKAACL) and Girdhari Lal Dogra Memorial, Government Degree College, Hiranagar.
According to an official statement, Amrit Yuva Kalotsav is a unique endeavour of the Akademi to revive the interest of the youth in the performing arts of India as the country enters its Amrit Kaal where its future will be built on the foundation of its glorious past.
To mark the completion of 75 years of India’s Independence, there will be presentations for a total of 75 days at various venues around the country.
“Artists came all the way from Ladakh UT and showcased our diversified culture. The stage was further taken by Bilal Ahmed Ganie and his team who presented Sufiana Kalam in front of august audiences. The day also witnessed a power-packed performance of Kathak dance by Vasuki Natyashala, Delhi and Rouf dance by Sweet Screens Productions, Srinagar, which mesmerised each and everyone in the gathering,” the statement said.
The day culminated with the theatrical presentation ‘Neer Nirupan’ directed by Saud Al Rashid Para under the banner of Grey Greed Productions, Delhi. Earlier in the morning, a workshop on art critique was also held in which senior experts, art critics, and scholars like Balwant Thakur, Vijay Shanker Mishra, Prayag Shukla, Chetan Joshi and Tapati Chowdhurie shared their knowledge acquired through vast experience.
“On Sunday, the concluding day of Amrit Yuva Kalotsav, Rahul Mishra and Rohit Mishra of Varanasi, Geetru Folk Music and dance by Sars Bharti and Group, Kathak Dance by Natyanjali Society for the promotion of Classical Dance, Jammu, Choral Music by GLDM Degree College, Hiranagar and Ladakhi play ‘Rangkhang’ by Ranthang Theatre group will be showcased at Abhinav Theatre, Jammu at 3 pm,” the statement said.
