JAMMU, Dec 08: Union Home Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to visit Jammu and Kashmir by the end of this month to kickstart the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) election campaign for the 2024 Parliamentary elections.
Ravinder Raina, President of BJP’s J&K UT unit, stated that the party had formally requested party high command for a rally of the Union Home Minister, Amit Shah, to boost the morale of party workers.
“We had sent a request to the party high command for a rally of the Union Home Minister, Amit Shah, at Jammu to kickstart the BJP’s 2024 Lok Sabha election campaign in J&K to boost the morale of party workers”, Ravinder Raina, President of BJP’s J&K UT unit said.
Sources within the BJP revealed that the high command has given consent for Shah’s visit, and the Union Home Minister is expected to address a public rally in Jammu. The venue is yet to be finalized, taking security aspects into consideration.
During his visit, Amit Shah will also inaugurate high-tech e-buses in Jammu, a part of the Smart City Project in both Jammu and Srinagar Cities. The J&K Government had sent a formal request to the Government of India (GoI) around 20 days ago for the inauguration. The GoI has given its consent, and the visit is seen as a strategic move to not only kickstart the BJP’s election campaign but also promote modern and sustainable public transportation in the region.
