Srinagar, May 06: A delegation of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) led by General Secretary Mohammad Khurshid Alam visited the aggrieved family of a murdered woman from the nomadic community, following directions from party president Mehbooba Mufti.
The delegation extended heartfelt condolences to Mohammad Rafiq Khatana, the husband of the deceased, her brother Shahjahan Khatana and other family members, alongside members of the nomadic community who had assembled in sorrow.
While addressing the gathering, Alam condemned the heinous crime in the strongest terms and called upon the authorities to ensure swift and exemplary justice. “This brutal and barbaric act has shaken the soul of our society. Crimes of such nature cannot be tolerated. We demand a fair, time-bound investigation and the harshest possible punishment for those involved, to ensure such acts are never repeated and justice is truly served,” he said.
Alam reaffirmed the PDP’s unwavering support to the bereaved family, assuring them that the party stands shoulder to shoulder with them in their time of sorrow.
“No crime against the vulnerable, especially women and marginalised communities, will be tolerated under any circumstances and the fight for justice will continue until the culprits are held fully accountable,” he said while praying for eternal peace to the departed soul.
