New Delhi, May 31: AIKS (All India Kashmiri Samaj) Saturday demanded an immediate legal and disciplinary action against authorities of a college in Mohali where a Kashmiri Pandit student committed suicide allegedly due to mental torture and harassment.
A statement issued here said the mental torture and harassment led to suicide of Aryan Razdan son of Surinder Razdan on May 19 at CGC Jhanjeri where he was pursuing second semester. “Civil hospital phase 6 Mohali should also come out clean on the issue. Also, how the mobile and laptop of Aryan was seized without the consent of family. Why his hostel room was cleaned. These things need a clarification,” the statement said. It said that Aryan committed suicide in his hostel room by hanging to a ceiling fan after being harassed by college authorities for allegedly resorting to cheating in exams. AIKS also thanked DC Budgam Akshay Labroo for taking up with the matter with the concerned authorities. “The whole Kashmiri Samaj is shocked and wants a fair and immediate probe into the student’s death,” said Ravinder Pandita President AIKS.
