New Delhi, March 07: The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) proudly organized AICTE IDEA Lab Tech Fest- 2025. The event was a grand success, bringing together over 76 IDEA Labs from across the country to showcase their innovative projects. The fest attracted more than 1,500 visitors, including exhibitors, innovators, faculty members, and technology enthusiasts.
Inaugurating the program, AICTE Chairman Prof. T.G. Sitharam emphasized the importance of fostering a culture of creativity and innovation in technical education. He stated that the Idea Lab serves as a seed for innovation.
Through this initiative, both teachers and students are engaging in peer-to-peer learning, multidisciplinary approaches, and tackling real-world problems. Students are actively working on solutions related to water conservation, agriculture, healthcare, and technology. The focus is on empowering teachers, who are expected to serve as facilitators in this process. With AI advancing rapidly, it will transform both teaching and learning in the future.
This initiative aims to shift our students from being mere learners to becoming innovators. In order to become a developed nation, we must first evolve into a nation of producers. This platform is crucial in supporting students and faculty in developing solutions for real-world problems,” Prof. Sitharam said in his address. He also announced that, in addition to the 115 existing AICTE IDEA Labs, 318 more institutions have been approved to establish AICTE IDEA Labs in their campus. Prof. Sitharam along with other dignitaries visited the stalls and appreciated the efforts of the young innovators.
AICTE Vice Chairman, Dr. Abhay Jere, also spoke at the event, highlighting AICTE’s commitment to bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world application. “This event is a testament to the incredible potential of India’s young minds. Through the IDEA Labs, we are not only nurturing innovation but also creating pathways for students to enhance their employability and entrepreneurial skills,” Dr. Jere remarked.
Prof. Rajive Kumar, Member Secretary of AICTE, also shared his insights on the fest, saying, “The Tech Fest is a remarkable showcase of the talent emerging from the IDEA Labs. We are delighted to provide a platform that encourages interdisciplinary collaboration and offers real opportunities for commercialization and patenting of innovations.”
The fest featured over 76 interactive stalls where students and faculty presented a range of innovative projects, from cutting-edge technological solutions to creative prototypes. Live demonstrations and hands-on workshops offered attendees the chance to experience the ground-breaking ideas firsthand. The event also served as a dynamic networking hub, bringing together innovators, industry leaders, and academic professionals to discuss future technological advancements and collaborative opportunities.
The AICTE IDEA Lab Tech Fest also included a rigorous evaluation process, where expert jury members selected the top teams based on their creativity, technical expertise, and project impact. The winners were awarded first, second, and third prizes, recognizing their outstanding contributions to innovation.
The AICTE IDEA Lab Tech Fest 2025 showcased the next generation of technological leaders. It was a resounding success, further solidifying AICTE’s role in supporting India’s growing innovation ecosystem.
