Srinagar , April 05 : Advocate M Saleem Paray, a practising lawyer at High Court ofJ&K and Official Spokesperson of DPAP, has expressed serious concern over the current state of political affairs in the Union Territory and the absence of meaningful opposition to key decisions being taken at the national level.
Referring particularly to the recent passage of the Waqf amendment without substantial debate or opposition, Advocate Saleem Paray stated that the absence of senior leader Ghulam Nabi Azad from Parliament is being felt deeply. Known for his ability to speak with clarity, courage, and deep understanding of both national and regional issues, Azad Sahib’s voice once served as a powerful shield for the concerns of Jammu & Kashmir.
Paray noted that in present times—marked by confusion, administrative rigidity, and growing public dissatisfaction—Azad Sahib’s presence would have offered much-needed guidance and assurance to the people. His longstanding commitment to secularism, justice, and public welfare earned him respect across all sections of society.
There is a growing sentiment across the region that Ghulam Nabi Azad must once again find space in national-level representation, as his leadership is not only missed but desperately needed to restore balance, raise genuine concerns, and connect governance with ground realities.
