Chadoora, Dec 10: Senior political leader Zaffer Mir (Lasjan) Sunday said that Pohru-Chadoora had enough potential to become a Mini Food Processing hub as being most fertile area and close proximity to the National Highway but due to the lackadaisical attitude of successive regimes in the past, people were made to suffer determinedly.

In a statement issued to Rising Kashmir, Mir said the huge indifference adopted by the erstwhile successive governments of national Conference and People’s Democratic Party and concerned MLAs towards the people of Pahru is unforgivable. “They have shamelessly exploited the people by making false promises with them and never facilitated the share of development for which they had been elected by the general public,” he said.

Mir asserted that Pahru has huge scope for poultry production but till date the government has not taken any positive measures to develop this sector that will bolster its production and supply. “Only if the government is serious with regards to the welfare of the local population of this area, which exceeds 10,000, its people can export poultry to other states besides catering the local demands,” he added.

Earlier Zaffer Mir launched membership drive for Chadoora constituency from Pohru-A and Pohru-B Panchayats. “This membership drive will reach to each and every Mohalla and Halqa of Chadoora constituency where people have long waited for a reliable political option through which their suffering could be mitigated and their genuine demands be resolved”.
Zaffer also raised the irksome water supply issue faced by the local inhabitants of Pahru that has been shut down from the last few days due to a technical snag at Master Plan Water Supply in Kenihama.

He urged the district administration and Jal Shakti Department to carry out necessary repairs at the earliest meanwhile water tankers should be sent to the affected vicinities so that public are not allowed to suffer in want of drinking water supply till the snag is sorted out,” he said.
