SRINAGAR, MAY 22: The Administrative Council (AC), which met here today, under Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, approved the Rs. 31.58 crore upgradation/renovation of Transport Nagar, Parimpora in Srinagar.
Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar, Advisor to the Lieutenant Governor; Dr.Arun Kumar Mehta, Chief Secretary, J&K and Mandeep Kumar Bhandari, Principal Secretary to the Lieutenant Governor attended the meeting.
The project components comprise the construction of a road network, a sewage and drainage network, and an electric network totalling Rs. 30.00 crore. It also covers the creation of parks and green spaces, as well as contingencies such as consultation worth Rs. 1.58 crore.
The project aims at decongestion of Srinagar city besides bringing all the transport agencies on one platform outside the city. It also envisages ensuring proper facilities both in terms of road network and other amenities at this vital business center. This project once completed will benefit nearly 76 transport agencies, besides, providing/improving the livelihood of people/traders dealing with various trades.
AC gives nod to construction of new Bandipora District Court Complex
In a significant decision aimed at effectively addressing the general public’s legal concerns as well as the district’s increased litigation cases/judicial work-load, the Administrative Council (AC) met here today under Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and approved the construction of a new District Court Complex at Bandipora.

The project is being sought for funding under the Centrally Sponsored Scheme “Development of Infrastructure Facilities for the Judiciary” and is expected to cost Rs 35.12 crore.
The new Court Complex would comprise a three-story court building, Lawyers Chambers, and Residential Quarters for District Court Judges, as well as other facilities and basic amenities.
