Jammu, Jan 22: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national general secretary Tarun Chugh on Wednesday strongly criticised the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), accusing it of using scams to mislead the people under the guise of development.
He said AAP’s election campaign is symbolized by empty liquor bottles and water buckets scattered across Delhi, reflecting the corruption and mismanagement under Kejriwal’s leadership.
Chugh said that Arvind Kejriwal is out on bail for his involvement in the liquor scam and alleged irregularities in the functioning of the Delhi Jal Board. “Kejriwal has hit a new low during the election campaign by making misleading and deceitful statements, which expose his pattern of political manipulation,” he said.
The BJP leader reminded people of Kejriwal’s controversial remarks about the Ram Janmabhoomi and the Shri Ram Temple in Ayodhya, which still linger in public memory. He also criticised Kejriwal’s hollow promise to pay temple and gurdwara priests similar to mosque clerics, calling it a deceptive move that the people of Delhi can see through.
Chugh expressed confidence that the people of Delhi have decided to reject the “AAPda” (a play on the word ‘disaster’) that has failed to deliver any real social welfare over the last ten years. “The upcoming Delhi elections will expose the hollowness of Kejriwal’s leadership and the false promises made by the AAP,” he said.
