AAP to contest next assembly polls in JK

Jammu, Oct 17: In a major announcement on organisational front, AamAadmi Party (AAP) Monday announced the provincial level as well as union territory level units of party with oath ceremony of all the nominated office bearers will be held on October 28 and 29 and party will contest the next assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir with full force the campaign of which will be started on November 1 across the union territory.
Two rounds of announcements have been made earlier in which units of district as well as block level have been constituted and announced whereas the units of provincial as well as UT level have been announced now the lists of which have been released by party.
A statement from the party said that AAP has framed Jammu and Kashmir State Coordination Committee. Former legislator and minister, Harsh Dev Singh will head this committee as Chairman, while DDC member Mehraj Malik and Dr.Ghulam Mustafa Khan will be co-chairmen of the committee.
Similarly, Jammu and Kashmir State Organisation Building Committee will be headed by Prabhari of Jammu and Kashmir, while senior leader Om Prakash Khajuria and DDC member Mehraj Malik will be co-chairmen of the committee.
Nasir Ali Kochak will lead the J&K State Political Strategy and Policy committed as Chairman with S. Surender Singh Shengari as Co-chairman whereas Jammu and Kashmir Manifesto Drafting Committee will be headed by S. Deep Singh as Chairman while Prof. (Dr) Farooq Ahmed Aga will be co-chairman of the committee.
On the other hand, senior party leader and DDC member TS Tony has been assigned the task of chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Engagement and Minority Affairs Committee with SheemaFarooqi as co-chairman.
In this move of organisation strengthening AAP has also formed State Media Committee with Dr.Nawab Nasir as Chairman, S. Jagdeep Singh as Co-chairman whereas Prof. (Dr.) Farooq Ahmed Aga has been nominated as Chairman of State Grievances Redressal Forum SK Sharma as Co-chairperson.
In Jammu and Kashmir SC, ST and OBC Welfare Forum, YashpalKundal has been appointed as Chairman with Retired Judge SikanderAzam as Co-chairman whereas Dr. Mohammad AyubMatto to lead Jammu and Kashmir Publicity and Visibility Committee as Chairman alongwithZafarullah Sheikh as Co-chairman.
AamAadmi Party has also announced the provincial level units in Jammu and Kashmir provinces with Dr.Ghulam Mustafa Khan has been appointed as Kashmir province president whereas Er. Nazir Ahmed Yatoo, Mohd Amin Dar and Deeba Khan as Vice Presidents.
Similarly in Jammu province unit, S. Surendra Singh Shangari is appointed as senior vice president and Farooq Ahmed Banday, Raj Kapoor, Ravi Shastri, Rajesh Padgotra, Amit Kapoor and Subhash Sharma as Vice Presidents.
Alongside, Retd judge SikanderAzam has been appointed as Prabhari of Jammu province ST wing while KhatibHussain is President of Unit.
On the other hand, Jammu province unit of Kashmiri displaced people wing will be headed by MK Yogi as Prabhari and Ashwani Kumar Bhat as President.
AamAadmi Party has also announced units of some of the districts of Jammu and Kashmir with MianAayaz Ahmed Jamali has been appointed as District President Bandipora, Younis Khan as District President North Srinagar comprising of four assembly constituencies, OwaiseWani as President of South Srinagar district comprising of four assembly constituencies.
Terming the announcement of all these units as a major step forward by AamAadmi Party, the party’s organization building incharge in Jammu and Kashmir, Shri MunishKaushik said that a powerful organisational structure is prerequisite for every political party and AamAadmi Party is now having a powerful organisational structure in Jammu and Kashmir with units of districts, provinces and state have been announced.
He further said that all the units of party are dynamic in nature with office bearers are of different fields who are socially intellectual, politically experienced, energetic, educated and most importantly having a zeal and enthusiasm to serve the people.
He said that alike other parties, AamAadmi Party units in Jammu and Kashmir are having highly educated chairpersons in it who are having high qualifications like PhD and many are doctors, engineers, lawyers, technocrats, entrepreneurs and presence of these highly educated and professional people in units make AamAadmi Party a dynamic political platform.
He further said that the oath ceremony of all the newly elected chairpersons will be held in Jammu on October 28 and in Kashmir on October 29 and campaign for next assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir will start formally from November 1st.
