New Delhi, Jan 16: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national general Secretary Tarun Chugh on Thursday launched a scathing attack on the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), accusing it of crippling the Punjab government’s administration. This, he said, was done in a “desperate attempt to shield Arvind Kejriwal from an impending and humiliating defeat” in the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections.
In a statement issued here, Chugh accused the Bhagwant Mann-led Punjab government of abandoning its fundamental responsibilities. “The Bhagwant Mann government seems to have completely surrendered its duty towards the people of Punjab. The extent of AAP’s panic and dysfunction is evident as 45 Punjab MLAs, including nearly a dozen ministers, have been dispatched to Delhi to salvage Kejriwal’s crumbling image,” he said.
Highlighting the deteriorating conditions in Delhi, the BJP leader asserted that the people have now seen through Kejriwal’s “deceptive” politics. “Public grievances have multiplied under Kejriwal’s misrule. Delhi’s health and education sectors, once touted as AAP’s flagship achievements, are now in absolute disarray. The so-called ‘Delhi model’ has completely fallen apart,” he said.
Chugh further said the AAP government has failed spectacularly on every front, both in Delhi and Punjab. “Kejriwal and his coterie have become synonymous with scams. From the liquor scam to other widespread corrupt practices, AAP has dragged both Delhi and Punjab into national disgrace,” he added.
Blaming AAP for turning both states into hotbeds of corruption, he called on Delhi voters to deliver a decisive verdict. “The people must rise to hold AAP accountable. It is high time Delhi teaches Kejriwal and his party a hard-hitting lesson for betraying public trust,” Chugh added.
