Srinagar, May 26: Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) leader Mohamad Yousuf Tarigami has expressed grief and sorrow over the demise of Bahaudin Zahid who breathed his last on Sunday morning at Chanapora, Srinagar after a brief illness.
“Late Zahid fought the assembly election in 1967 as an independent candidate supported by the Democratic Conference. He remained associated with the left movement from a young age and continued this association lifelong. He consistently worked hard for the upliftment of the downtrodden, exploited and oppressed sections of the society in adverse situations defying all odds,” Tarigami said in a statement issued here, adding, “CPI(M) expresses its heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and friends.”
