JAMMU, May 21:
In a humanitarian gesture, the Indian Army on Tuesday afternoon handed over a Pakistani woman, who had unintentionally crossed the border, to the Pakistan Army.
The woman, identified as NaseemFatma from SakhiNath village in Kotli district of Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (POJK), was detained late Saturday night in the forward village of Pukherni in Nowshera sector of Rajouri district.
According to SSP Poonch, YougalManhas, the woman was mentally unsound and was initially handed over to the police after her detention. Following this, the Indian Army established contact with the Pakistan Army via the hotline. After completing the due process, NaseemFatma was repatriated at the Chakan-da-Bagh border crossing in Poonch.
