Srinagar, May 19: Director General of Police for Jammu and Kashmir, R.R Swain, undertook a rapid visit to the District Police Headquarters in Shopian, where he convened a crucial meeting with senior officers from the army, CRPF, and police.
During the meeting, comprehensive discussions were held on the enemy’s strategies, frustrations, and their attempts to disrupt the democratic process. Devious schemes aimed at selective targeting and disrupting economic activities, which pose threats to employment and income, were thoroughly analyzed. In response, localized strategies to counter these threats were formulated.
Accompanied by IGP Kashmir, V.K Birdi, and DIG South Kashmir, Altaf Ahmad Khan, DGP Swain also conducted a thorough inspection of the night domination actions undertaken by security forces, particularly in the Pahalgam axis.
Assuring a robust crackdown on genuine Over-Ground Workers (OGWs) and a handful of local terrorists aiding foreign terrorists, DGP Swain emphasized that stringent legal measures will be taken against these elements to safeguard the interests of the community. The security leaders stressed that individuals facilitating terrorists by providing accommodation, transportation, food, medicine, and communication facilities will also face severe consequences, as they are equally culpable in aiding terrorism.
