Samba, Apr 16: Apni Party Provincial President Jammu and former minister, S. Manjit Singh on Tuesday said the youth have extended their support to the party because of its progressive policy to bring peace and prosperity in Jammu and Kashmir.
The former minister was speaking at a joining program which was organized by the block President Youth Wing of the Party at Bari Brahmana Irshan Choudhary in which two dozen youths joined the party, an official statement issued here said.
Welcoming the new entrants, Singh hoped that their joining would strengthen the party at the grassroots level and would encourage others to join the Apni Party.
“Youth have joined the party expressing their faith in the leadership of Syed Mohammed Altaf Bukhari,” he said, adding, “The party has gained support from the youth because its leadership believes in telling the truth to the people without dividing people into regional or religious lines.”
Manjit further said that the traditional political parties however exploited the youth as vote banks, and did nothing to generate a source of income, employment or self-employment with a lack of support from the authorities to provide easy funds to start their business or to open a shop or industrial unit.
“The aspiring youth are often told to arrange funds by themselves by helping with a minimum amount after completing multiple formalities. These formalities are so complex that the aspiring youth who want to start business changes their heart after looking at the complicated procedure of loan, and other formalities,” he said.
He said the Apni Party believes that the loan amount that is sanctioned to start any kind of business shall be enhanced up to Rs 1 crore per individual and the formalities that were demanded by the banks to release the funds should be minimum.
He said the party believes that everyone cannot be provided a government job in Jammu and Kashmir. However, the government can help the unemployed youth with the funds, and proper training and arranging visits to the already functional industrial units across the country, he said, adding that an innovative approach is required to encourage youth towards the business and industrial units.
Manjit said the youth are impressed with the Apni Party’s policy and agenda of equitable development, and they have pinned hopes with the party and its leadership.”
The Apni Party leader also demanded that statehood should be restored before the holding of assembly elections so that the confidence of the people in both regions could be restored.
Meanwhile, he also discussed developmental and drug addiction-related issues with the people at Mean Sarkar in Bari Brahmana and expressed gratitude to the people for extending support to the party.
