Srinagar, Apr 07: The comprehensive plan of Jammu and Kashmir Government is underway to enhance infrastructure and essential facilities across 20 lesser-known tourist spots, with 10 each earmarked for development in the Jammu and Kashmir divisions in 2024-25 fiscal year.
As per the official communication, Keran is slated to be transformed into a bustling border tourist village, offering a unique blend of scenic beauty and cultural experiences.
“Efforts are underway to improve tourism circuits in Tosamaidan and Sitharan, further enriching the visitor experience in these picturesque locales,” it said.
It also said that the initiative includes the establishment of DuggarDani at Samba, featuring a traditional setup reminiscent of a “mock village,” aimed at showcasing the region’s rich cultural heritage.
As part of the endeavour to instill national pride, a towering National Flag Mast measuring 130 meters (425 feet) is set to be erected at Patnitop, serving as a symbolic landmark, it added.
A grand welcome gate will be constructed at Lakhanpur which will serve as a beacon to highlight the myriad attractions within the Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory, it said adding that significant strides are being made in the revival and restoration of 75 heritage and cultural sites, alongside the establishment of eight cultural centers to promote regional art and traditions.
The promotion of Sufism through structured programs and the digitisation of libraries are integral components of this comprehensive initiative aimed at enriching the cultural landscape of Jammu and Kashmir, it added.
