Budgam, March 21: A lineman working in the Power Development Department (PDD) lost his life after falling from an electric pole in the main town Magam at Central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Thursday.
A police official from Magam Police Station told Rising Kashmir that a lineman was carrying out repairs on the electric wire when this incident occurred at the main market in Magam.
He sustained injuries after falling from the electric pole.
“Following the incident, he was immediately taken to the Sub District Hospital in Magam for initial treatment. However, due to the severity of his injuries, he was later transferred to SKIMS Soura for advanced medical care. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries at the hospital,” official said.
The deceased lineman has been identified as Farooq Ahmad Wani, son of Ghulam Mohammad Wani and a resident of Hazarpora Beerwah.
