Kashmiri Pandit Cricket League: Nilesh, Sunil, Nittu power JOCC, Elite Club, RSCC to resounding wins

Jammu, Oct 26: Brilliant display with the willow by Nilesh, splendid show with the ball by Sunil Jalla and magnificent batting display by Nittu guided Jagti Oriental Cricket Club (JOCC), Elite Cricket Club (ECC) and RS Cricket Club (RSCC) to resounding victories on Wednesday in the ongoing Kashmiri Pandit Cricket League (KPCL) Season-III, being organised by Safran Cricket Club at Country Cricket Stadium Gharota, near here.
The day marked completion of the league phase of the tournament, so the quarterfinals lineup has been drawn in the event.
In the first match of the day, JOCC thrashed Kashmir Vikings in an easy contest by 52 runs.
Earlier, batting first, JOCC scored a good total of 176 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. Nilesh top scored with unbeaten 75 runs off 40 balls, studded with 6 fours and 4 sixes, while Vaneet Dhar contributed 24 runs to the total.
For Kashmir Vikings, Rajeev Dhar took 2 wickets.
In reply, Kashmir Vikings managed to score 124 runs in 20 overs by losing 7 wickets, thus lost the match by 52 runs. Sunny top scored with unbeaten 26 runs.
For JOCC, Rajesh Raina captured 3 wickets while Arsh Raina bagged 2 wickets.
For his splendid batting display, Nilesh was adjudged as the man of the match.
In another match, Elite Cricket Club defeated Whites Cricket Club in an easy contest by 8 wickets.
Batting first, Whites Cricket Club scored a modest total of 127 runs in 17.1 overs. Ritik Pandita top scored with 40 runs off 35 balls, studded with 4 delectable boundaries.
For Elite Cricket Club, Sunil Jalla took 4 wickets, while Shishank Dhar bagged 3 and Atul Watloo claimed 2 wickets.
In reply, Elite Cricket Club chased the target in 15.3 overs by losing 2 wickets, thus won the match by 8 wickets. Manoj Bhat top scored with 49 runs off 37 balls, while Vivek Koul contributed 37 runs to the total. For Whites Cricket Club, Ravi Pandita and Akash Saproo took 1 wicket each.
Sunil Jalla was adjudged as the man of the match for his superb bowling show.
In yet another match, RSCC thrashed Shailputri Cricket Club by 7 wickets.
Batting first, Shailputri Club scored 132 runs for the loss of 7 wickets. Vishu top scored with 40 runs off 28 including 3 fours and 3 sixes.
Rajesh Khatri, Sunil Dhar and Amit Wali bagged 2 wickets each.
In reply, RSCC chased the target in 15.3 overs by losing 3 wickets to win the match by 7 wickets. Nittu top scored with 63 runs off 41 balls, studded with 2 fours and 4 sixes, while Rajesh Khaitri contributed 43 runs to the total. Deepak Kaul and Rahil Mughal claimed one wicket each for Shailputri Club.
Nittu was declared as the man of the match for his magnificent innings of 63 runs.
The matches were officiated by Ashok Singh and Girdhari Lal as the umpires, while Arun Zalpuri, Deepak Pandita, Raja Nadeem and Amit Bhat were the scorers. Ajay Peshin was the match referee.
The tournament is being held under the overall supervision of Chief Organiser Sarthak Khoda.
