Wular to get facelift, to have musical fountain soon

Bandipora, Sep 19: The Wular Lake in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district is all set to get a major facelift as the government has decided to install a musical fountain in the lake.
Coordinator of Wular Conservation and Management Authority (WUCMA) Mudasir Ahmad told Rising Kashmir that the installation of a musical fountain will create major attractions at this lake and it would create a theatrical spectacle with music, light and water.
“Plans are afoot to install musical fountains in Wular lake so that special evening shows with colourful lighting and music will become the centre of attraction. There will also be a display of fountain water dancing to musical beats”, he said.
Mudasir said that the musical fountain will provide evening entertainment to the people and tourists visiting the lake.
With this facility, people can spend some time here and enjoy the music at the banks of the Wular Lake which will also boost the tourism sector, he said.
He further said that this will add one more attractive product in the tourism platter and will prove an effective promotional tool as well for the destination.
He added that the funds for the said project are available with them and online tenders for the project will be floated soon.
Mudasir said that along with installation of musical fountain, construction work on the walkway and cycling track along Wular in Saderkote area of Bandipora has been started aiming to provide tourists the glimpses of bird watching and photography.
