B2V-4: DC Shopian visits panchayats, reviews arrangements for visiting officers

Shopian, Oct 28: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Sachin Kumar Vaishya today conducted an extensive tour of several panchayats in connection with arrangements for the fourth phase of Back to Village Programme and took stock of ongoing activities in village Panchayats under B2V4.
The DC visited several panchayats including Pahnoo, Sangdon, Hendew and various other places of the district. He interacted with the visiting officers and public and visited development work sites along with officers.
Vaishya distributed Land Passbooks among the beneficiaries of Hendew in presence of concerned DDC Member, JDP Shopian and Visiting Officer Hendew.
He also took stock of the facilities being provided to the visiting officers of these areas.
While interacting with people, he said that the aim and objective of the B2V4 programme is to reach out to the people of the district at their door steps, listen to their demands and issues for early redressal.
Regarding the ongoing Back to Village programme, DC said focus has to be on ensuring that all stakeholders shall voice their opinion freely in a more responsive way regarding development activities and implementation of schemes.
He said that the visiting officers have been deployed at 32 Panchayats under the first phase of B2V4 to ensure that the officers assess development requirements and gaps so that solutions can be undertaken afterwards.
He appealed to people to come forward and participate enthusiastically in the outreach program.
The DC was accompanied by various officers and officials of the line departments.
