At least nine persons including four women and two children were injured in a road accident in Uri area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district Saturday evening, officials said. Two are said to be in a critical condition.
A police official said that an Eco vehicle bearing registration number JK05H 0602 met with an accident near NS bridge, resulting in injuries to nine persons.
He said that the vehicle was going from Nambla to Salamabad when the vehicle met with an accident and fell into a 25 feet deep gorge injuring all the people aboard.
The injured have been identified as residents of Salamabad Uri.
Soon after the accident, locals and a police team reached the spot and shifted the injured to SDH Uri for immediate treatment.
Block Medical Officer Uri Dr. Mohammad Ramzan told Rising Kashmir that five injured people were shifted to GMC Baramulla for advanced treatment where two of them are in critical condition.
“Two of them are critical whereas other injured people are also under observation,” he added.
