Baramulla, Sep 20: A programme ‘vocal for local’ was organized at Baramulla on Tuesday, in which BJP’S General Secretary (Org) Ashok Koul, was the chief guest.
Speaking on the occasion Ashok Koul said that Kashmir’s pottery, once famed and sought after, is now struggling to find takers as well as makers, a statement from the party said.
Koul said, it’s heartwarming to see BJP workers experiencing diverse cultures, traditions, music, old traditions, pottery cuisines and languages through the ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ (EBSB) ‘AzadikaAmritMahotsav’ in Baramulla.
Families that practised this work for generations suddenly find their new generation uninterested. He said that the mindset of free India should be ‘vocal for local’.
“We should appreciate our local products, he said if we don’t do this then our products will not get an opportunity to do better and will not get encouraged,” said Koul.
He said that Prime Minister NarendraModi programmes and initiatives like Startup India, StandUp India, Digital India and Make in India are all led by young people and will take the country to newer heights. He said, all feel proud when the youth of a country is innovating and taking the nation forward. The step also adds to the country’s efforts to revive indigenous cultures under PM Modi’s flagship project – ‘Vocal for Local’.
He urged all young people to come forward and make ‘vocal for local’ a success. Whatever Kashmiris want for betterment of their livelihood, the Centre will help us develop Jammu and Kashmir. The Modi Government is committed to the overall development of J&K.
