DC Doda listens to people ‘s issues at Khellani

Doda, Oct 19: District Administration Doda in its efforts to resolve the public grievances at their doorsteps, conducted public outreach programmes across the district.
Deputy Commissioner, Vishesh Paul Mahajan, SSPAbdul Qayoom, District heads of line departments and several teams of senior level officers of district administration listened to the issues of public and the PRIs.
The Wednesday Block Diwas program was held at Panchayat Samaie, Tehsil and Sub Division Gandoh, Block Headquarter Khellani, Panchayat Ghar Chill, Tehsil and Sub Division Assar, Block Headquarter Bhaderwah, Sub District Bhaderwah and tehsil headquarter Bhella, Sub Division Thathri.
The DC along with SSP and other district heads took stock of public grievances at Block Headquarter Khellani. They also visited Government Higher Secondary School Khellani and interacted with the students and the staff. A newly upgraded IT lab was inaugurated by the DC in the School.
SSP Doda, while speaking on the occasion, threw light on present cyber threats and drug menace. He appealed to the audience to stay vigilant against cyber frauds and help the administration in the fight against drug menace.
DC also interacted with PRIs and the public. A number of demands/ grievances were put forth by the PRIs and general public.
On the issue of shortage of Doctors and staff at Trauma Hospital Khalleni, the DC said that the matter has already been taken up with the health authorities for making the Trauma Hospital fully functional.
He instructed the District Youth Services and Sports Officer to submit a viable plan for creation of a sports stadium/ playground in the Khellani area. He said that demand for new roads would be considered on priority provided land was donated for the purpose.
On the issue of shortage of drinking water, Repair of irrigation canal and replacement of wooden electric poles, the DC gave on the spot directions to the concerned authorities for time bound redressal.
He stressed on active public/ PRIs participation in making the district Drugs free and Swach. He urged the public to meet the visiting officers during the 4th phase of the Back to Village programme and give them details of local issues, feedback and aspirations. He also made the public aware of special initiatives of District Administration like Swach Gaon Sundar Gaon, Innovation Space, Talent hunt etc.
The DC also distributed Land Passbooks to the land owners during the Block Diwas program under Aap ki Zameen AapkiNigrani (AZAN). He inspected the stalls put up by   departments and took stock of services delivery. He appealed the public to register for AB-PM JAY-SEHAT Scheme to avail the opportunity and visit nearest Camps established for the same.  
At other designated locations, the day long Block Diwas proceedings witnessed projection of a range of issues and demands by Public and PRIs. They demanded augmentation of water supply and electricity, macadamization of roads, meeting dearth of staff in schools and hospitals, up-gradation of schools, banking facilities in rural areas, release of pending wages under MGNREGA etc.
The Presiding officers of the Block Diwas gave patient hearing to the issues and demands and directed the concerned officers to prepare a list of issues/grievances raised pertaining to their departments and resolve the same at an earliest.
