B2V-4: 3rd phase commences in Kulgam’s 66 panchayats

Kulgam, Nov, 01: The Third phase of Back to Village-4 (B2V-4) programme commenced Tuesday at 66 Gram Panchayats in Kulgam district, with much enthusiasm and public participation.
The designated Visiting Officers listened to locals, PRIs and civil society members to have on spot appraisal of public issues.
On the occasion, a number of activities were conducted in all 66 Panchayat Halqas spanning across the blocks.
Joint Director Information, Anam Ul Haq Siddiqui visited Panchayat Halqa Shurat Kulgam as Visiting Officer under ongoing ambitious “Back to Village” programme phase 4 to assess the development issues of the Panchayat.
He met PRIs and locals and interacted with them, listened to them patiently to take stock of their genuine demands pertaining to their respective areas.
While interacting with the people, the Jt. Director said that the ‘Back to Village’ Programme is to ensure public participation of people in the local governance setup.
He toured Panchayat Halqa and inspected development activities and sought feedback from the general public on the effectiveness of welfare schemes as well as developmental activities being executed in their respective areas.
He also inspected stalls set up by line departments at Shurat.
The Joint Director also inspected several offices including the Health and Wellness centre, Aaganwadi centre and other offices in the area.
On this occasion, the Officers of various departments briefed about the benefits of various centrally Sponsored and other welfare schemes of their departments for awareness of the general public, so that they can avail the benefits of these schemes to stand on their own legs.
