Srinagar, Jan 24: SKUAST-Kashmir on Tuesday organized an orientation cum training programme on ‘Human Resource Development for Technological Backstoping for Sustainable and Accelerated Transformation of Agriculture’ here, under the Chairmanship of Prof. Sarfaraz A. Wani, Director Research, SKUAST-Kashmir.
The programme was attended by Prof. Masood Salem Mir, Associate Director Extension (AS), Dr. M. Anwar Bhat, Prof-cum-Chief Scientist (Agronomy), Directorate of Extension, District Officers of Agriculture Department and Scientists from KVKs.
Director Research in his inaugural address expressed his views on the importance of the project. He highlighted the objectives of the project in terms of Government support to education and research in Agriculture Universities for attracting the young generation towards agricultural education.
In addition, these projects will help in the infrastructure development for productive, effective and translative research, he said.
Prof. Azmat Alam Khan, OSD to Vice Chancellor SKUAST-Kashmir while delivering his presentation highlighted the provision for scholarships to be provided to all enrolled PG and Ph.D students who are not in receipt of ICAR/CSIR/ICMR Scholarship/Fellowships.
Prof. Nasir Ahmad Dar, Nodal Officer and Dr. Irfan Bisati, (Associated Scientist) conducted the proceedings of the session. The presentation was followed by interaction and feedback session by the participants.
