Nagmarg is one among seventy five tourist destinations recently identified by the J&K government because of it’s historical, picturesque beauty, and cultural significance.
Soon after it’s inclusion in tourist destinations, J&K tourism sought applications from residents of the area for homestay registration thus creating employment opportunities in one of the most far flung area of the district.
The place has been witnessing good number of tourists after getting figured on tourism map with locals thronging the area for trekking, horse riding, sports and many other activities.
The district administration has scheduled a festival in Nagmarg in the upcoming days to showcase adventure potential and the true essence of Nagmarg.
Deputy Commissioner Bandipora said officials have been stressed on proper promotion of the festival to achieve the ultimate objective of making Nagmarg one of the most beautiful tourist destination.
He said govt intends to develop Nagmarg at par with other tourist destinations in valley as it has huge potential to attract tourists which needs to be fully explored.
