Sports extravaganza among migrant institutions gets underway

Jammu, Sep 28: Getting the better of Government Mixed Higher Secondary School Camp Dugra Nagar by (2-0) in the summit clash, the boys team of Government Higher Secondary School Camp Bohri lifted the title trophy of Tug of War as the first of its kind rather historic sports event among migrant institutions got underway at Sports Stadium Jagti, near here Wednesday.
Meanwhile, in Tug of War girls title clash, the eves of Government Mixed Higher Secondary School Camp Durga Nagar outplayed Government Higher Secondary School Camp Jagti-A by (2-0) to clinch the title.
Earlier, in the league round of boys section, GHSS Camp Bohri defeated GHSS Jagti-A by (2-1), GHSS Camp Durga Nagar prevailed over GHSS Camp Jagti-B (2-0), GHSS Camp Roopnagar drubbed GHSS Camp Purkhoo (2-0) and GHSS Camp Bohri defeated GHSS Camp Roopnagar (2-1).
In the league round of girls section, GHSS Camp Jagti-A prevailed over GHSS Camp Shastri Nagar (2-0) and GHSS Camp Durga Nagar outplayed GHSS Camp Jagti-B (2-0).
The matches were supervised by the Organising Secretary of the Tournament, VeenaTickoo, Zonal Physical Education Officer (ZPEO) Dansal along with Conveners and Co-Conveners including Sanjay Kumar Raina, VinodBhat, Ajay Raina and Ruby Pandita (all Physical Education Lecturers).
This mega event is being organised jointly by Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner (Migrants) Office Jammu and the Department of Youth Services and Sports.
Joint Director Youth Services and Sports, Atul Kumar is the Chairman of the Organising Committee, while Tehsildar Imran Naik is the Coordinator of the event. District Youth Services and Sports Officer Jammu, Sukhdev Raj Sharma is the Secretary of the Organising Committee.
Earlier, this event which includes various sports disciplines namely Cricket, Tug of War, Chess, Ludo and Yoga, was inaugurated by Principals of GHSS Camp Jagti, SumanLataKhazanchi and Sanjeev Kumar Pandita in a simple function.
