‘My Town My Pride’ prog held in all Budgam municipalities

Budgam, Dec 05: The two-day ongoing programme “My Town, My Pride 2.0” was held in all six municipalities of Budgam district and witnessed huge participation of people on Monday.
The Visiting Officers felicitated hundreds of beneficiaries and distributed sanction and approval letters under different self-employment schemes, besides providing prosthetics and other aid to hundreds of specially-abled persons.
Along with Budgam municipality, the mega events were held at Higher Secondary School Chadoora, presided over by Visiting Officer Ulfat Jabeen, MD, J&K Women Development Corporation.
In Khansahib Town, the programme was presided over by Ghulam Rasool Mir, Director Horticulture Kashmir, and Syed Qamar Sajad, Additional Registrar Cooperative Kashmir, who presided over the MTMP, Jan Abhiyan programme at  Magam Townhall.
Similar MTMP, Jan Abhiyaan programmes were also held at Townhall Beerwah and Townhall Char-i-Sharief, which were presided over by Zeenat Ara, Program Officer, ICDS, and Masrat Hashim, Additional Secretary, General Administration Department.
The Visiting Officers inspected stalls installed by various departments showcasing their products and, for public awareness dissemination, their welfare schemes.
In order to promote sports culture and ensure maximum student participation in co-curricular activities, the Visiting Officers inaugurated various sports events at different schools in the municipality. They also held meetings with elected councillors led by their presidents and held interactions with local residents, traders and Transporters.
During the Jan Abhiyan programme, a review of the implementation of schemes and the generation of awareness about Jan Baghidari and Digital JK schemes were held by the Visiting Officers. The students from various schools presented folk and cultural programmes and skits at different venues.
In the Municipal Committee Beerwah, a team of doctors from the sub-district hospital conducted treatment of patients and distributed free medicines to those who have undergone medical checkups under this MTMP programme.
