Srinagar, Apr 09: CRPF celebrated Valour Daywith great enthusiasm and patriotism at the 75 Battalion in Srinagar on Sunday. The day started with a grand salutation by the ceremonial guard at the Quarter Guard to K K Pandey, Commandant. The event was graced by the presence of Narendra Yadav, 2IC, Rajesh Kumar DC, and Ms Rose Maria MO, along with company commanders.
During his speech, Pandey emphasized the importance of Valour Day and remembered the heroic saga of exemplary valour, unparalleled courage, and phenomenal fortitude displayed by barely 2 companies of CRPF on 9th April, 1965, at Sardar Post in Rann of Kuchh, Gujarat. They faced a full-fledged brigade attack perpetrated by Pakistan Army but were undeterred by the scale of the challenge. Pandey saluted the indomitable courage and bravery of the heroes of Sardar Post and reminded the gathering that the history of CRPF is adorned with numerous glorious achievements of valour and sacrifice.
The sainiksammelan was also organized as part of the event, where soldiers and officers came together to celebrate the spirit of Valour Day. Finally, in the evening, a badakhana was organized in the messes where all ranks enjoyed the delicacies of rich and healthy food together.
This event showcased the maturity of CRPF as a force capable of handling any challenge before internal security. The celebration of Valour Day serves as a reminder of the sacrifices made by the brave soldiers of CRPF and their undying commitment to the country. The event was a fitting tribute to the brave soldiers who have given their lives in the line of duty and an inspiration to those who continue to serve.
